Bicycles and other vehicles such as scooters, scaters, kettcars etc. may not be taken into the gardens. There are bicycle stands in front of the main entrance and directly behind the side entrance on Meckenheimer Allee.
Please note that the Botanic Gardens cannot accept any liability for bicycles parked there.
Eating and drinking is permitted throughout the gardens as long as you take any rubbish back home with you. Larger picnics and barbecues are not allowed.
You can stop for refreshments at the NEES Café & Restaurant. This is located just inside the main entrance and is run by a private owner. Please check the NEES3 website for opening hours, prices and reservation options.
In the main entrance building you will find a wheelchair-accessible toilet on the left. Other toilets are located to the left and right of the entrance to the greenhouses.
Dogs and other animals are not allowed in the gardens.

You can stop at the main entrance and the side entrance to get in and out by car. Unfortunately, there is no disabled parking space.
The outdoor paths in the gardens are wheelchair-accessible, but please note that the greenhouses are not.
You are welcome to take photos of the beautiful subjects in the Botanic Gardens. However, if you wish to take photographs or film for commercial or journalistic purposes, please contact the Garden Secretariat.
- The Botanical Gardens are a central research and teaching facility of the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn. Visitors enter the Botanic Gardens at their own risk. By entering the Botanic Gardens, every visitor accepts these garden regulations as binding and undertakes to follow the instructions of the garden staff.
- Animals (e.g. dogs) or vehicles (e.g. bicycles, scooters, inline skaters, kettcars) are not allowed. No liability is accepted for bicycles parked at the entrance.
- Prohibited is:
- any damage to or collection of plants, fruits, seeds and animals
- stepping on flowerbeds, closed paths or frozen water bodies
- sporting activities, such as jogging
- any damage to or soiling of the site (especially the signs) - feeding the animals (fish, ducks, turtles). - Sitting, lying or camping on the lawns, pathes or bridges is prohibited.
- Children under 12 years of age are only admitted when accompanied by an adult. School groups must stay together in groups under the supervision of a teacher.
- Smoking is not permitted in the greenhouses.
- Photography for commercial and/or journalistic purposes is only permitted with the permission of the garden administration.
- After the bell has rung, the gardens must be left immediately.
